Open or sealed
Four-row cylindrical roller bearings are used almost exclusively on roll necks in rolling stands, calenders and roller mills. As these bearings are usually mounted on the roll necks with an interference fit, four-row cylindrical roller bearings are particularly suitable for rolling mill applications with high rolling speeds.
As four-row cylindrical roller bearings can only carry radial loads, they are mounted in conjunction with deep groove or angular contact ball bearings or with tapered roller bearings (radial or thrust design) for axial loads.
